Friday golf day
3 groups went out with John Barton-organized Friday golf at Fukui course. Conditions were perfect. Winner this week (using handicaps and stableford system) was a red-hot Ian Stutchbury with 43 points and in 2nd, a consistent coach with 40 points, one more birdie to add to his collection for the week. Rod Hoy and Dale Riva went out Toya way for 18 holes. Beautiful course, only 5500yen with a cart on Thursdays, friendly staff who were asking us to come again and will do so. Tomoka Kakuta, Seiji Kakuta, Tsumugi Riva and a rather hungover Dale Riva played Niseko Golf Course battled the strange weather (rainstorm, then humid, then cool wind, then beautiful blue skies to finish off). NGW Opens with Ladies Park Golf Open
Niseko Golf Week 2009 kicked of under cool conditions at the Alpen Hotel Park Golf on Sunday. The Ladies Open featured 12 hearty players braving the elements for a chance to win a host of prizes kindly donated by Niseko Property, Groove Cycles, Dennis Van Den Brink, Niseko Cycle Week and the Alpen Hotel.
